Some electrical loads don't behave politely when they're switched on. Motors and transformers, for example, can draw a brief current surge before settling into normal operation. The FLSR080 is designed for your circuits where such temporary inrush is expected. It's an 80A Class RK5 dual-element fuse with a time-delay response, so an appropriate short startup surge doesn't automatically mean an open fuse. At the same time, it provides overcurrent protection when an overload continues or a short circuit occurs.

Where It Works Best
The FLSR080 is especially useful when a circuit experiences a brief current increase as part of normal operation. A motor starting up is an easy example. Its initial current can be much higher than its normal running current. Transformers can behave similarly when they're first energized. The time-delay characteristic is there to help a properly selected fuse handle those short, expected events rather than reacting to them as though every surge were a sustained overload.
