FLSR070 - 70Amp Fuse
The FLSR070 is a 70A Class RK5 time-delay fuse designed for electrical circuits that may experience a temporary current surge during normal operation. Motors and transformers are familiar examples—startup current can be considerably higher than normal running current, and you don't necessarily want that brief surge opening the fuse. The FLSR070 uses a dual-element, time-delay design to accommodate appropriate short-duration inrush while still providing overcurrent protection during a fault or sustained overload.
Key Features and Benefits
- 70A continuous current rating for circuits requiring 70-amp overcurrent protection.
- Class RK5 dual-element design combines time-delay operation with high-capacity fault protection.
- Rated for applications up to 600VAC and 300VDC.
- Slo-Blo/time-delay operation helps the fuse tolerate appropriate temporary startup and inrush currents without unnecessary opening.
- Knife-blade construction provides the physical configuration required by compatible higher-amperage fuse blocks and holders.
- Non-indicating design for applications where a built-in fuse-status indicator isn't required.
- Compatible with the appropriate fuse block, clip, or holder, including the specified LFR60100 Series PG holder.

Material Compliance and Certifications
The FLSR070 is identified as a Class RK5 fuse, an important specification when selecting a fuse for existing equipment or a new electrical system. Matching the amperage alone isn't enough; the fuse class, voltage, interrupting capacity, operating characteristics, and physical configuration must also meet the application's requirements.
For projects that require specific UL, CSA, RoHS, REACH, environmental, or material-compliance documentation, confirm the current documentation for the exact FLSR070 catalog number. This is particularly important for engineered installations where certification records and material declarations form part of the project's compliance documentation.
Where It Works Best
The FLSR070 is particularly useful where temporary inrush current is expected during normal operation. A motor, for example, may draw substantially more current at startup than at operating speed. Transformers can behave similarly when first energized. The time-delay characteristic allows a properly designed circuit to accommodate these brief conditions without sacrificing protection against sustained overloads and short circuits.
That makes this 70A Class RK5 fuse well suited to properly specified motor circuits, transformers, motor-control equipment, industrial machinery, feeders, switchboards, service equipment, and other commercial or industrial power-distribution applications requiring its electrical characteristics.
