EB1030L - 30 Amp Circuit Breaker
The EB1030L is a 30 amp, single-pole thermal-magnetic circuit breaker designed for electrical panels that use the EB frame platform. It was originally designed for panelboards manufactured before 1989 and is commonly used when maintaining or servicing those existing systems. Like other breakers in this class, it protects branch circuits by automatically shutting off power when an overload or short circuit is detected.
This breaker uses a thermal-magnetic trip mechanism. The thermal portion reacts to prolonged overcurrent conditions, while the magnetic element responds quickly during short-circuit events. Together they provide the protection characteristics expected in EB-frame installations. The EB1030L carries an interrupting rating of 10kA at 120VAC and includes factory-installed line and load terminals, allowing it to be connected directly within compatible equipment.
With a 40°C ambient rating, the breaker is intended for standard indoor electrical environments such as electrical rooms, commercial facilities, and industrial service panels. EB-series breakers were built for long service life, and replacement units like the EB1030L help keep those legacy panels operating as originally designed.

Material Compliance and Certifications
- Standards: The EB1030L is produced for use in accordance with typical standards applied to molded-case circuit breakers used in North American electrical systems. Materials and internal components are designed to meet commonly recognized safety and insulation expectations when installed within rated conditions. Electrical installations should follow the National Electrical Code (NEC) as well as any applicable local regulations.
Where It Works Best
- The EB1030L breaker is typically used when maintaining or servicing electrical panels that require EB-frame circuit breakers. It is commonly found in:
- Commercial buildings with older distribution panels
- Industrial facilities maintaining existing electrical infrastructure
- Institutional properties such as schools, hospitals, and municipal buildings
- Electrical maintenance projects where frame compatibility and correct ampere rating must match the original equipment
- Using the correct EB frame breaker helps maintain the intended protection characteristics of the panel while keeping existing electrical systems in service.
